PRESS RELEASE

General:

Permission was granted to Trainer Zoheb Shaikh to saddle the following horses on behalf of Trainer Shamshuddin at both Trainers risk and liability:

Race No. 1 – Horse No. 9 – GOLDEN ESTELITA (R. UMESH)

Race No. 4 – Horse No.4 – FLYING PHOENIX (SK. FAROOKH)

1^st Race – (10) The Guntur Plate Div. I (about) 1100 metres – Category II:

GOLD PLUS (S. SHOBAN BABU) was extremely fractious and could not be stalled inspite of all efforts was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s Orders. SSC revoked.

Explanation of Jockey P. S. Chouhan (DIXIE BELL) in the presence of Trainer L.V.R. Deshmukh that his instructions were to sit with the front runners which he could not follow as his mount had no initial speed and was gradually gaining ground until entering the straight and thereafter was tending to lug in inspite of his best efforts, noted for future reference.

Jockeys R. Umesh (GOLDEN ESTELITA) and S.Sreekant (RICH AND FAMOUS) cautioned to be more vigorous in their efforts in the initial stages of the race to be well up with the field.

2^nd Race – (11) The Look of Eagles Cup (about) 1400 metres – Category III:

MERRY MAID (A. ASHHAD ASBAR) jumped out slowly losing about 2 to 3 lengths.

Jockey R. Parmod (THE HIMALAYAS) and App. Jockey Ajit Kumar (ALCOHOLOGY) were cautioned to be more vigorous in their efforts in the initial stages of the race to be well up with the field.

3^rd Race – (12) The Guntur Plate Div. II (about) 1100 metres – Category II:

Jockey Ch K Chary (STAR EXPERIENCE) severely reprimanded for failing to maintain a straight course soon after the start.

CANNON GEM (NITIN SINGH) veered out onto the sand track soon after the start inspite of the Jockeys efforts and thereafter came onto the inner rail at about the 800 metres. Trainer M.V. Narayana Rao was advised to show his charge in a mock race before next acceptance.

MIGHTY POWER (M.F. ALI KHAN) trailed the field for the greater part of the race eventually finished the course distance behind. Trainer L.D’Silva was advised for better performance before next acceptance.

Jockey N. Rawal (LOCO POCO) reported that his mount was tending to run out until entering the straight in the process forced out APRIL SHOWERS (P.S. CHOUHAN) at about the 800 metres. Trainer A. Vatsalya was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

4th Race – (13) The S.S. Cardmaster Memorial Cup Div. I (about) 1200 metres – Category II:

DATING (APP. B. DILEEP) jumped out slowly losing about 4 to 5 lengths. SSC revoked.

LADY PATRICIA (R. LAXMIKANTH) was trotting lame on her both hind after the race.

FLYING PHOENIX (SK. FAROOKH) returned bleeding from both nostrils after the race.

App. P. Venkat (MANDURO) cautioned for shifting out soon after the start causing a check to QUEEN OF SHEEBA (APP. KIRAN NAIDU).

Jockey M.F. Ali Khan (PHAR LAP) severely reprimanded for veering out soon after the start and crowding the runners drawn on his outside resulting in causing a check to GLORIOUS BAY (R. B. SHINDE)

5th Race – (14) The Subhash Chandra Bose Plate Div. I (about) 1100 metres – Category III:

Explanation of Jockey S. Sreekanth (QUEENS FORTUNE) that his mount jumped out awkwardly towards inside in the process causing interference to KOHINOOR MAGIC (APP. AJIT KUMAR) inspite of his best efforts, noted. Trainer K. Satheesh was advised to show his charge in a mock race before next acceptance.

Jockeys R. Umesh (KANSAS CITY MAC) and Laxman (ALPINE GIRL) reported loss of their whips at about the 300 and 400 metres respectively.

6th Race – (15) The S.S. Cardmaster Memorial Cup Div. II (about) 1200 metres – Category II:

Change of rider permitted from Jockey A. Ramana to Jockey A. Ashhad Asbar on MOHEENA.

VIJAYSENA (SK. FAROOKH), ROSTOCK (R. UMESH) and SMARTY PRINCE (G.B. KHADE) were slow into stride losing about 1 or 2 lengths each.

7th Race – (16) The Subhash Chandra Bose Plate Div. II (about) 1100 metres – Category III:

Change of rider permitted from App. G. Sai Vamshi to App. P. Sai Kumar on COOL SPICE.

8th Race – (17) The Madras Race Club Cup (about) 1200 metres – Category I:

Change of rider permitted from Jockey R.B. Shinde to M.F. Ali Khan on HUSSLER.

App. Jockeys Harinder Singh (RAJ VEER), P. Venkat (GREEK FIRE) and B. Dileep (STAR COMPOSER) severely reprimanded to exercise greater control over their mounts in future, failing which they would be liable to disciplinary action.

App. P. Sai Kumar (HURRICANE BAY) cautioned for shifting out at about the 300 metres forcing out CLEVER PLOY (CH K CHARY) and STAR COMPOSER (APP. B. DILEEP).

9th Race – (18) The Anantapur Plate (about) 1000 metres – Category III:

PEASGUS BELLE withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

App. P. Venkat (ORIENT GLORY) fined Rs. 1,000/- for shifting in immediately after the start in the process causing interference to PART TIME LOVER (A. IMRAN KHAN).

Jockey A. Imran Khan (PART TIME LOVER) fined Rs. 2,000/- for shifting out approaching the 800 metres causing interference to COMMANDING HEIGHTS (N. RAWAL) and FEARLESS MISSION (SK. FAROOKH).

An objection lodged by Jockey Deep Shanker (ROSE QUEEN) placed 4^th by the Judge against Jockey R. Umesh (FRIENDLY EQUATION) placed 3^rd by the Judge was upheld by the Stewards and ordered revised placings as under:
