PRESS RELEASE

General:

The Stewards fined Mr. Mohd. Sadatullah, Trainer’s Valet employed by Trainer A. Vatsalya a sum of Rs. 10,000/- for contravening Calendar Notification on the possession of Cell Phone in the premises of the Hyderabad Race Club on Sunday, 5^th October, 2008. The Stewards further severely warned Trainer A. Vatsalya to be more careful in future.

1^st Race – (197) The S. Rangarajan Memorial Cup (about) 2000 metres – Category II:

SILVER BULLET (P.S. CHOUHAN) returned bleeding from both nostrils.

2^nd Race – (198) The Onnu Onnu Onnu Plate (about) 1600 metres – Category III

Jockey R. Laxmikanth (VALERIE) cautioned for failing to improve position from about 900 metres.

Jockey Harish (VIJAY DHANUSH) fined Rs. 1,000/- for shifting in at about 1000 metres causing interference to VALERIE (R. LAXMIKANTH).

Jockey A. Ramana (SHIVAJI) cautioned for going wide negotiating the final bend forcing out ISNT SHE SOMETHING (CH. K. CHARY).

Explanation of Jockey Ch. K. Chary (ISNT SHE SOMETHING) that his mount was trying to run out soon after entering the straight finishing the course on the outer rail inspite of his efforts, noted. Trainer Shamsuddin was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

STAR FAVOURS (SK. FAROOKH) jumped out awkwardly towards outside and tightened SHIVAJI (A. RAMANA) on his outside.

VALERIE (R. LAXMIKANTH) walking lame due to severe shoulder sprain.

3rd Race – (199) The Eluru Plate Div. I (about) 1600 metres – Category III

Jockey G.B. Khade (ASIAN DELIGHT) was informed that he was being given the benefit of doubt in this instance in the presence of Trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju with regard to the handling of his mount in the straight.

Jockey R. Laxmikanth (OCEAN CITY) fined Rs.1000/- for shifting in soon after the start causing a check to ARSHAM (D. SINGH).

Jockey Ravinder Singh (ROMANTIC FLYER) and J.H. Christopher (AVON GORGE) were cautioned to maintain a straight course at the start.

ELBRUS (A. IMRAN KHAN) was forced to be checked soon after the start due to the horses drawn on his outside shifting in.

4th Race – (200) The Cape Knight Plate Div. I (about) 1200 metres – Category III

Jockey J.H. Christopher (IVORY SNOW) fined Rs. 2,000/- for coming in at about 900 metres in the process causing interference to CLASSIC DANCER (D. SINGH).

Jockey M. Krishna (UJJAINI) fined Rs. 3,000/- for coming in soon after the start crowding and causing interference to LOCAL IKON (RAVINDER SINGH), STORM COMMAND (P.S. CHOUHAN), SUGAR GOLD (K. ANIL) and CLASSIC DANCER (D. SINGH).

SOUTHERN SPICE (A. IMRAN KHAN) returned bleeding from both nostrils.

5th Race – (201) The Major Mir Mujtaba Hussain Memorial Trophy (about) 1400 metres – Category II:

ESSENCE (CH. K. CHARY) was permitted to be withdrawn as no other Jockey was available to replace Jockey Ch K. Chary who was declared medically unfit to ride.

SECRET SILENCE (SK. SHAROOKH) slow out losing about 4 to 5 lengths. SSC revoked. Thereafter the gelding drifted out onto the outer rail in the straight. Trainer Zoheb Shaikh was advised to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next acceptance.

Jockey M. Krishna (PROUD ACCOLADE) cautioned for shifting in soon after the start causing a check to VENTUROUS (SK. FAROOKH).

Jockey Ravinder Singh (DARK DESIRE) cautioned for shifting in at about 400 metres in the process causing a check to SINCE (APP. R. UMESH).

6th Race – (202) The Cape Knight Plate Div. II (about) 1200 metres – Category III

Consequent to Jockey Ch K. Chary being declared medically unfit to ride, the Stewards permitted Jockey Sk. Farookh to be substituted on KOHINOOR DIAMOND.

ROYAL DIGNITARY (S. SREEKANT) slow out losing about 4 to 5 lengths. SSC revoked.

Jockey Harish (FUSION MUSIC) cautioned for coming in at about 300 metres in the process forcing in AL AWAL (APP. R. UMESH).

Jockey Sk. Farookh (KOHINOOR DIAMOND) fined Rs. 1,000/- for veering out at about 200 metres in the process forcing out FUSION MUSIC (HARISH).

7th Race – (203) The A.P. Race Horse Owners Association Trophy (about) 1400 metres – Category I:

Consequent to Jockey Suraj Narredu being declared medically unfit to ride at Pune, the Stewards permitted Jockey N.M. Sequeira to be substituted on CLASSIC ART.

Jockey A. Ramana (CEFIRO) fined Rs. 1,000/- for shifting in, in the final stages of the race in the process causing interference to FLY BY WIRE (HARISH).

App. R. Umesh (BUDDY BROTHERS) cautioned for shifting in at about 1100 metres taking the ground of CROCODILE HUNTER (D. SINGH).

Jockey N.M. Sequeira (CLASSIC ART) cautioned for failing to maintain a straight course in the final stages of the race.

Jockey Harish (FLY BY WIRE) cautioned for shifting in soon after the start in the process causing a check to INDIAN DANCER (A. IMRAN KHAN).

Jockey D. Gnaneshwar (DOING MY BEST) cautioned to maintain a straight course at the start.

8th Race – (204) The Eluru Plate Div. II (about) 1600 metres – Category III

Consequent to Jockey Ch K. Chary being declared medically unfit to ride, the Stewards permitted Jockey N.M. Sequeira to be substituted on NAPA VALLEY.

JAY JAY (R. LAXMIKANTH) refused to be stalled inspite of all efforts was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s Orders. SSC revoked.

Jockey K. Anil (BENTOTA) cautioned to be more vigorous in his efforts in the straight.
