PRESS RELEASE

Permission was granted to Trainer Zoheb Shaikh to saddle the following horses on behalf of Trainer Shamshuddin at both Trainers risk and liability:

Race No. 3 – Horse No. 10 – SIR ALMAS (SK. FAROOKH)

Race No. 7 – Horse No. 14 – GOLDEN ORAGE (R. UMESH)

1^st Race – (19) The S. Malakonda Reddy Memorial Cup (about) 1400 metres – Category II:

Jockey R. Laxmikanth (DHRUTIMAN) cautioned for shifting in after the start taking the ground of NAPOLEON (R. RUPESH).

App. Kiran Naidu (ARYA) cautioned to exercise greater control over his mount who shifted out in the straight.

Explanation of Jockey Aadesh Kumar (HEYDAN) that his mount was hanging in very badly in the straight whereby he could not ride out his mount to complete advantage, noted. Trainer M. Sathyanarayana was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

Explanation of Jockey Deep Shanker (MAGIC MILLION) in the presence of Trainer L.D’Silva that his instructions were to position his mount 2^nd or 3^rd which he was unable to carry out as his mount jumped out slowly losing about 2 to 3 lengths and had to be niggled to make the lost ground until entering into the straight and in the straight the gelding had not shown any turn of foot, noted. Trainer L.D’Silva was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

2^nd Race – (20) The Rani Laxmi Bai Plate (about) 1400 metres – Category II:

Jockey R. Umesh (BUGATTI GABRIELLA) cautioned for shifting in after the start taking the ground of HARD KINGDOM (S. SHOBAN BABU).

Jockey R. Umesh (BUGATTI GABRIELLA) fined Rs. 1,000/- for shifting in at about the 400 metres causing interference to JABEL QUEEN (A. RAMANA) and again shifting out forcing out DEVIL’S ADVOCATE (R. LAXMIKANTH) and taking the ground of HARD KINGDOM (S. SHOBAN BABU).

Jockeys Ch K Chary (LAMBOURN) and Aadesh Kumar (XTREME) cautioned for failing to maintain a straight course in the final stages of the race.

3^rd Race – (21) The Aristocracy Cup Div. II (about) 1100 metres – Category III:

THE BEATLES ANGEL (R.B. SHINDE) got loose on way to the start and ran the course riderless as such was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. Trainer S.S.F. Hassan was advised to show his charge in a mock race and to ensure that his charge was better shooled before next acceptance.

Jockey N.M. Sequeira (WINNING RAYS) cautioned for shifting in soon after the start taking the ground of ASPIRING STAR (G.B. KHADE) and touching DEEPANJALI (R. LAXMIKANTH).

Jockey G.B. Khade (ASPIRING STAR) reported that his mount did not raise a fluent gallop throughout the race inspite of his best efforts. Trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

SIR ALMAS (SK. FAROOKH) trailed the field for the greater part of the race. Trainer Zoheb Shaikh deputizing for Trainer Shamshuddin was advised to ensure that his charge was capable of a better performance before next acceptance.

CROWN PRINCE (B. MUKESH) returned bleeding from both nostrils after the start.

TRUE FUTURE (AADESH KUMAR) returned lame on her right fore after the race..

4^th race – (22) The Kalamaris Plate (about) 1400 metres – Category III:

CASABLANCA (S. SHOBAN BABU) was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

ACHIEVER (APP. AJAY GAIKWAD) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside taking the ground of INDIAN ARMY (A. RAMANA).

STRATEGIC COMMAND (A. IMRAN KHAN) jumped out awkwardly towards outside in the process taking the ground of TOP SHAPE (R.B. SHINDE).

Explanation of Jockey A. Ramana (INDIAN ARMY) that his instructions were to position his mount 5^th or 6^th position which he could not carry out as his ground was taken soon after the start, noted. However, the Jockey was severely reprimanded for failing to ride out his mount to complete advantage for the greater part of the race. The Jockey was further warned to ensure that similar lapses do not occur in future, failing which he would be liable to disciplinary action.

5th Race – (23) The Aristocracy Cup Div. I (about) 1100 metres – Category III:

Jockey N. Rawal (STAR PROSPECT) cautioned for shifting in soon after the start taking the ground of A FIRE WORK (P. UDAY KIRAN).

Jockey P. Uday Kiran (A FIRE WORK) reported that his mount was trying to run out throughout the race. Trainer J. Silvester was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

SUN STRIKES (CH K CHARY) returned bleeding from both nostrils after the race.

The Stewards suspended Jockey N. Rawal (STAR PROSPECT) from riding in races with effect from 5^th to 9^th August, 2010 both days inclusive for incompetent handling of his mount in the straight. Permitted to ride work.

6^th Race – (24) The Ratanlal Gupta Memorial Cup (about) 1400 metres – Category I:

BELLA COOLA (B SHANKER) jumped out slowly losing about 1 or 2 lengths.

An enquiry has been opened into the crowding that took place 100 metres after the start resulting in severe interference to IAEPETUS (J.G. SAMPSON), OROCHI (LAXMAN), CORAL GABLES (A. IMRAN KHAN) and KING SIZE (A. RAMANA).

7^th Race – (25) The Cupid Plate (about) 1200 metres – Category III:

Change of rider permitted from Jockey R. Laxmikanth to Jockey R. Parmod on ALLEGATION.

COLORADOS PRIDE (P. UDAY KIRAN) shifted in soon after the start taking the ground of VICTORY SIGNAL (APP. P. SAI KUMAR) inspite of the Jockeys efforts.

Jockey Deep Shanker (LALACZAR) reported that his mount wobbled in the straight for no apparent reason. Trainer Laxman Singh was advised to take remedial measures before next acceptance.

Explanation of Jockey R.B. Shinde (DANCING HARBOUR) that as his mount was keen passing the 800 metres and in trying to avoid clipping the front runners he was forced to check his mount resulting in severe interference to ICE CANDY (APP. B. DILEEP) who in turn fell back causing severe interference to VICTORY SIGNAL (APP. P. SAI KUMAR) racing directly behind. As the incident being purely accidental no action beyond cautioning Jockey R.B. Shinde to exercise greater control over his mount in future, failing which he would be liable to disciplinary action was taken.
